Current Students

The Office of Financial Aid desires to assist your educational pursuit by acting as one of many pillars in supporting your financial needs. The other pillars in supporting your education include sponsorship from a local church and/or your own employment. Our goal is to walk alongside of you in this calling as partners in ministry.

The General Scholarship

The General Scholarship is made possible through the generous gifts of individual donors, and is available to those students who qualify.

SWBTS General Scholarship Application

This application must be submitted by 11:59 PM April 17, 2014.  Please insure that you carefully read the application process instructions below to insure that you submit the required documents in order for your application to be considered. 

REquirements

Note: In order to receive the "General Scholarship" students must meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Be enrolled full time (9 hours for Graduate students, 12 hours for Undergraduate students, enrollment in seminars, projects or dissertation phase for doctoral level students).
  • Currently Employed
  • Have and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA.
Application Process

Students applying for the General Scholarship must complete the following two-step process:

  1. Students must complete and submit the on-line application before 11:59 PM April 17, 2014.
  2. Students must send an email to financialaid@swbts.edu containing two documents before 11:59 PM April 17, 2014. The email must abide by the following criteria:
    1. The subject line must contain:
      • Student ID#
      • Student Name
      • “2014 Spring General Scholarship Documentation”
    2. Students must attach a copy of 2013 tax return (Form 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ, or 1099)*
    3. Students must attach a copy of a current pay stub

If any submissions are received after 11:59 PM April 17, 2014, they will automatically be withdrawn from consideration. No exceptions will be made.

*If you are a dependent and did not file a 2013 tax return, please provide a brief statement explaining that your parents still claim you, and list the amount of financial assistance they provided for you in 2013. (Be certain to include your parent’s contribution on the “Monthly income" section of the following application.) If you have not completed your 2013 tax return you must submit a copy of a 2013 W-2 for each working member of your family.

Thank You Letters

Scholarship recipients may be required to submit of a Thank You Letter* to the Office of Financial Aid upon request.   You may download the Thank You Letter Instructions by clicking here.
