L.R. Scarborough Chair of Evangelism ("Chair of Fire"), Associate Professor of Evangelism, and Associate Dean for Doctoral Programs
Dr. Queen serves as the L.R. Scarborough Chair of Evangelism ("Chair of Fire"), Associate Professor of Evangelism, and Associate Dean for Doctoral Programs in the Roy Fish School of Evangelism and Missions. He is married to Hope and has two daughters, Madison and Matia. He and his family are members of Cana Baptist Church, Burleson, TX.
Dr. Queen’s research and writing focus primarily on the gospel message and personal evangelism. He regularly contributes articles to Theological Matters, the official blog of Southwestern Seminary. His dissertation, A Theological Assessment of the Gospel Content in Selected Southern Baptist Sources, explores the way that the Southern Baptist Convention has articulated the gospel message through its history. Dr. Queen is both the co-editor and a contributor to A Passion for the Great Commission, a festschrift honoring his doctoral supervisor, Dr. Alvin Reid. His latest book, Everyday Evangelism, is a primer on evangelism that encourages every believer to evangelize daily.
Dr. Queen evangelizes with students weekly through Going the Second Mile, an initiative to evangelize every household within a two-mile radius of the campus. His previous church ministry includes serving as senior pastor, associate pastor for evangelism and discipleship, and minister of students and music. He regularly leads Evangelism Workshops and preaches in churches.
