Graphic artist wins award for Dead Sea Scrolls design

FORT WORTH, Texas (SWBTS) – Aubri Duran, assistant director of graphic design in Southwestern’s office of communications, has been announced as the bronze winner for the entire south region in the Neenah Paperworks Contest. Duran, whose design was up against 34 other entries, earned the award for her Dead Sea Scrolls Scriptorium Soirée invitation package.

“I was excited but not surprised to hear about Aubri's well-deserved recognition for her creative work on the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibition invitations,” said Dave Wright, director of creative services at Southwestern.

“Aubri’s intentionality and great attention to the smallest details were quite amazing and it really paid off. The final product was incredible. I am very happy for her and grateful that she is a part of the creative team here at Southwestern along with many other talented folks”

The invitations were for a private premier of the Dead Sea Scrolls & the Bible exhibition, hosted by Southwestern Seminary from July 2012 to January 2013. International diplomats, national and state representatives, and friends of the seminary were invited to an authentic Mediterranean dinner as well as personal tours through the exhibition prior to its opening to the public.

In July 2012, Olmsted-Kirk Paper featured the design on their blog. Additional pictures and further description of the invitation package can be viewed at http://okpaper.com/blog/dead-sea-scrolls-invitation.
