EndNote, Manuscript Template and Formatting Resources

The following resource page is designed to deliver many of the same resources offered through the E-License training.

Follow the instructions below to receive the most updated version of EndNote.  Students that already have EndNote may also update their installed software through the Help tab on their EndNote navigation pane.

Click this link and log into Blackboard with your student user name and password.  Follow the instructions to recieve a full installation of EndNote for your PC or Mac computer (make sure you check the correct link).  Make sure you check the system and hardware requirements listed below for your computer prior to installation.  EndNote now works with Office 2010/Windows 7 and prior versions (see below).  Mac users should have Windows for Mac for their machine in order for all of the resources offered below to run smoothly.

After installation, students should check for updates at this link:  http://endnote.com/support/enupdates.asp

**Mac users need to update to EndNote X6.0.2 in order to fix a Mac/EndNote glitch.  Click the link above and follow the instructions to obtain that patch.

After installing EndNote,  students should watch the set up instructional video for either PC or Mac to complete the set up process:

After viewing the set up video, students should download the following files to their desktop and then  locate them in the appropriate EndNote program folders: the SWBTS Manual of Style of Output Filter and the SWBTS Library Connections File. These files can now be downloaded via the Writing Center course on Blackboard. Each will require activation from within EndNote (follow the instructions given in the instructional video above).
 
With EndNote installed and set up properly, students should download the Southwestern Seminary Manual of Style Manuscript Template and save it to their desktop.  This template works with Microsoft Office Word and Word for Mac and helps students with a functional and formatted paper with title page.  Students can then use EndNote with this template to add footnotes and a bibliography.
