Southwestern is rallying its troops in response to the commands of our commander-in-chief, Jesus Christ. He has greatly commissioned us to reach our neighbors and the nations with the Gospel. Carrying out these orders includes sharing the life-changing message of salvation with the people in our community, most specifically those who live near Seminary Hill.
Taking the Hill is an evangelism initiative designed to share the Gospel to each of the nearly 6,700 households within a 1-mile radius of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. The initiative involves door-to-door, personal evangelism by teams of seminary students and professors. Everyone is called upon for this Great Commission task.
Stop by one of the many duty stations to receive your marching orders. You’ll receive a map with a section of houses to visit. Gospel tracts and door hangers will be provided for you to use. Teams of two are recommended.
As you visit homes, make every effort to have personal contact with someone at the home. If no one is home, leave a door hanger. If someone is home, engage him or her in conversation and share the Gospel.
Record the outcome of your visit to each house on the map and return it to the duty station from which you picked it up.
