David Mills came to Christ as a sixteen year old junior in High School on the West Coast. His church modeled evangelism for him and he soon began to share the gospel. Not long after his conversion and baptism, God called him into ministry and led him to East Texas Baptist University. Since graduation from ETBU, he has attended and graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Through the years, David has pastored churches in the Carolinas and Alabama, served on the state convention staff in Georgia in the Evangelism office, and has taught evangelism at Southwestern since 2006. In addition to teaching evangelism, he administers the evangelism and missions practicums into which all Southwestern students enroll. He provides evangelism training to churches in nearly every format available, from one hour training opportunity to entire weeks.
He has served as interim pastor of several churches since 2002. Since 1983, he has spoken at camps, conferences, chapel services, and revival services Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia,
Maryland, New York, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas, California,
New Mexico, Wisconsin, Washington, Kentucky, Wyoming, Moldova, and Venezuela.
He has published tracts, popular articles, book reviews, evangelism study courses, and a training book on evangelism. Currently, he is completing a manuscript on Charles H. Spurgeon’s evangelism and starting a manuscript addressing the biblical theology of evangelism.
He and his wife, Sherri Michelle, reside in Crowley Texas with three of their four children, Jonathan, Sarah Kate, and Luke. Their oldest daughter, Hannah Grace, attends the College at Southwestern, Fort Worth, Texas. The Mills are members of Cana Baptist Church, Burleson, Texas.
