The Terry School of Church and Family Ministries has several master’s and doctoral degrees that can prepare you for ministry.
The Master of Arts in Christian Education (MACE), the school’s most comprehensive degree program, will give you a 29-hour foundation in biblical and theological studies, a 20-hour foundation in Church and Family Ministries, and 15 hours of specialized courses in the area of your choice. You can customize your program through focused study in fields like family ministry, children’s ministry, youth ministry, teaching, Hispanic studies and much more. Whatever God calls you to do, Southwestern has a degree program that will help you apply His word to your ministry.
This degree offers a foundation in biblical and theological studies and in Christian education. You can also choose a concentration that will prepare you for the specific ministry to which God has called you.
This degree is designed to equip Christian men and women to minister God’s Word through counseling in the context of the local church or other Christian ministries. In the program, you’ll take courses in the Bible and theology, as well as counseling courses that will prepare you to apply God’s Word in counseling settings.
Southwestern Seminary offers Ph.D. degrees within each of its schools, providing you the opportunity to gain advanced training in specified areas of theology, archaeology, evangelism and missions, church and family ministries, or church music.
Building upon the M.A.C.E. degree, this degree provides advanced training without calling you away from your current ministry. Your studies will primarily be facilitated via the Internet and occasional, short seminars in Fort Worth. During your last year of study, you’ll complete a dissertation.
