Hispanic Studies

Southwestern Seminary offers a series of courses in English with the option of Spanish that culminate in the completion of a certificate in Hispanic Studies. Students may also complete these courses as they pursue a Master of Divinity or a Master of Arts in Christian Education or a Master of Arts in Missiology, earning a concentration in Hispanic Studies.

An examination of the history, doctrinal beliefs, practices, and socio-religious characteristics of cultures that have been significantly influenced by Roman Catholicism. Attention will be given to the development of biblically based and culturally sensitive missionary methodologies resulting in the establishment of effective contextualized congregations.

Un examen de la historia, creencias doctrinales, prácticas y características socio-religiosas de culturas que han sido influenciadas extensamente por el Catolicismo Romano. Se dará atención al desarrollo de metodologías misioneras que están basadas bíblicamente y son culturalmente sensibles resultando en el establecimiento de congregaciones eficaces y contextualizadas.
