Auditions for our ministry-based ensembles, graduate assistantships, and scholarships occur yearly in the spring and fall months.

All auditions for Fall 2020 will be conducted through online platforms and include the following steps:

What should I prepare?

Prospective bachelors and masters students should prepare two contrasting pieces representing their highest level of achievement. Doctor of Musical Arts candidates have enhanced requirements (please see DMA Audition Requirements for more information).

How do I submit my video audition?

Please ensure that the video recording is of the highest quality possible.  Your video recording should include:

  • Your name
  • A brief description of yourself
  • The degree you wish to pursue
  • Your contact information
  • The name of the selections you will be presenting
  • Two contrasting pieces representing your highest level of achievement

Upload your video recording(s) to YouTube or Vimeo and email the link(s) to auditions@swbts.edu (include your name and degree you wish to pursue in your email).  YouTube videos may be Public or Unlisted but not Private.

Is there a separate audition for scholarships?

No. All prospective students who audition are automatically considered for talent scholarships and assistantships.  No additional application or audition is necessary.

May I audition for more than one area?

You may audition for more than one area but no more than two areas.

Will on campus auditions resume in the fall for 2021?

Our hope and prayer is yes.

How do I complete the phone interview?

The School of Church Music and Worship will contact you to schedule your phone interview.

What is the deadline for submitting the application and video?

Prospective students are encouraged to complete their application and video submission process by May 15, 2020.  Auditions submitted after May 15 may be considered, but priority consideration will be given to auditions received by May 15.
