The College at Southwestern Girls’ Ministry was started in the fall of 2008 to meet the specific needs of college girls on campus. The primary focus is providing a discipleship program for students, teaching them biblically based doctrine and expounding on the practical applications in their daily lives. There are two student-led small groups meeting during the week where students are investing in one another, building authentic relationships, and providing accountability to one another. Once every month the girls’ ministry coordinates a social gathering. Some of the past events and parties have been the beginning of the semester kick-off parties, a Carve or Treat pumpkin carving party, college girls lunches, “that Thanksgiving thing,” a Christmas gingerbread house decorating contest, a Mexican fun night out, Green Party, and Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch.
