Southwestern News highlights students’ Gospel impact, available on the iPad
FORT WORTH, Texas (SWBTS) –The summer edition of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary’s Southwestern News magazine spotlights some of the students who have traveled throughout the world to tell the greatest story in the world.
“The current issue of Southwestern News focuses on just a few of our remarkable students,” President Paige Patterson writes in his introduction to the summer edition of the magazine. “We faced an almost insurmountable problem in deciding who to feature because our communications leadership was overwhelmed with genuinely amazing stories of what God is doing with and through our students.”
The magazine begins by portraying the story of one student who ministers in the African bush, while hunting wild game to provide food for his wife and children. From there, it follows the stories of a cowboy pastor in the western frontier of the United States and another pastor who God is using to transform a small community 60 miles south of Fort Worth. Other students are engaging the culture and proclaiming the Gospel in downtown Fort Worth and inner-city Houston, while still others are reaching the world through prayer and through seminary mission trips.
With the release of this edition of the Southwestern News, the magazine is now available in print, online and on the iPad. Through Southwestern Seminary’s new iPad app, which also provides access to the seminary’s news feed, campus tour videos and evangelism tools, you can view digital versions of this and earlier issues of the Southwestern News.
