Spring graduation: seminary will exceed 40,000 graduates

Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary will celebrate its 213th commencement ceremony, May 11. In awarding degrees to 247 graduates, the seminary will exceed 40,000 graduates since its founding in 1908.

The commencement “commissioning service” will begin at 10 a.m. at Travis Avenue Baptist Church, 800 W. Berry Street, Fort Worth, Texas. The public and media are invited to attend.

Seminary President Paige Patterson will address the graduates and commend them to gospel ministries throughout the United States and around the world. Five graduates will receive undergraduate degrees, 221 will receive master’s degrees, and 10 will be awarded doctoral degrees. The graduating students come from 29 states and 10 foreign countries: Korea, Hong Kong, India, Taiwan, Singapore, China, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Spain and Brazil.
