FORT WORTH, Texas (SWBTS) -- The Office of Student Services at Southwestern Seminary reported more than 26% of the 5,652 houses included in the Taking the Hill outreach campaign were reached during the Fall 2009 semester.
The office also reported at least 50 first-time professions of faith.
“I have been so thrilled with the response,” David Mills, assistant professor of evangelism, said. “I have been able to lead at least 9 people to Jesus on 6th avenue alone.”
The academic offices doubling as duty stations for the evangelism effort will be open between now and the start of the Spring semester on Jan. 14, giving time during the break and Winter 2010 term for Southwesterners to continue the evangelism initiative.
Evangelism packets and a list of five houses can be picked up at duty stations during normal business hours.
Academic offices will be closed Dec. 24-28, 2009 and Jan. 1-4, 2010. For more information about the outreach, visit www.swbts.edu/takingthehill.
