As students, faculty and guests travel around Southwestern’s Fort Worth campus, they will notice new banners highlighting a century-old passion.
The banners, declaring “Preach the Word, Reach the World,” adorn light poles fencing the Fort Worth campus, and serve as reminders of the school’s dual emphases of missions and evangelism centered on the inerrant Word of God, the Bible.
Developed in 2009, this slogan graces Southwestern Seminary’s official seal and marks the school’s promotional posters and brochures. It also was the title of the Summer 2009 Southwestern News magazine.
Southwestern trains ministers to preach the Word and reach the world in obedience to Paul’s mandate in 2 Timothy 4:1-5 and Christ’s Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20.
