Student publishes article in 'Journal of Markets & Morality'

FORT WORTH, Texas (SWBTS) – Keith Boozer, a doctoral student at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, recently published an article in the spring issue of the Journal of Markets & Morality. Boozer also serves as the research assistant to Edward Pauley, vice provost for academic programs.

In his article, titled “Magnanimity: Aquinas’ Examination of the Aristocratic Virtue,” Boozer argues that Aristotle’s view of magnanimity—a virtue lying between the extremes of “vanity” and “smallness of spirit”—causes him to develop “two distinct domains of virtue” based on the social status and wealth of a person. According to Boozer, Thomas Aquinas’ medieval assessment of Aristotle’s theory does not solve this problem.

The Journal of Markets & Morality is published biannually by the Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty. For more information on this edition of the journal, visit http://www.acton.org/publications/mandm.
