Fea: Darrington program is beacon of light

FORT WORTH, Texas (SWBTS) – Messiah College professor John Fea testified that God is transforming lives through Southwestern’s seminary extension program inside the Texas Department of Criminal Justice’s Darrington prison unit. Fea recently posted a blog about his experience lecturing at the Darrington extension on June 29.

“I left Darrington with a visible reminder of how learning and education can transform lives,” Fea, associate professor of American history at  Messiah College, said. “I felt blessed that I could participate in that transformation in some small way. I was pleased to give a lecture that was part of a program in which the dignity and worth of these men were respected and celebrated, despite their crimes.”

“Southwestern’s Darrington program,” he added, “offers a beacon of light in a very, very dark place.”
