LifeWay’s Web site features Derouen on parent ministry

FORT WORTH, Texas (SWBTS) – LifeWay Christian Resources’ Web site highlights 10 tips for parent ministry in an article by Johnny Derouen, associate professor of student ministry at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

In the article, titled “Ten Ways to Begin Parent Ministry,” Derouen notes that student leaders do not usually lack a concern for parent ministry, but they sometimes lack the method for implementing it. He offers 10 tips to begin ministering to parents. For example, he encourages student ministers to walk with God, to help parents understand the culture in which their children live, and to enable parents as spiritual leaders in the home.

About Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary

Southwestern Seminary celebrates its centennial in 2008.
