HOUSTON (SWBTS) – Evangelism took center stage at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary’s alumni luncheon during the SBC annual meeting, June 12. Frank Page, president of the SBC Executive Committee, and Steve Gaines, pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova, Tenn., were honored as distinguished alumni, and Southwestern president Paige Patterson updated alumni on the evangelistic atmosphere on campus.

HOUSTON (SWBTS) – Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary president Paige Patterson addressed messengers at the Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting, June 11, inviting them to come experience the evangelistic and doctrinal zeal on the campus. Patterson said the seminary reflects many of the same convictions of the Swiss and South German evangelical Anabaptists during the time of the Reformation.

SYDNEY, Australia (SWBTS) – Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary President Paige Patterson spoke at the seventh World Congress of Families, May 15-18, in Sydney, Australia, where citizens and leaders from countries around the world gathered to affirm the value of the family unit in society. First Lady Dorothy Patterson also chaired three panels during the session.

FORT WORTH, Texas (SWBTS) – Southwestern presented diplomas to 234 students at its spring commencement ceremony, May 10, where President Paige Patterson charged the men and women to keep leading people to Christ their top priority.
