FIRST PERSON: Personal Evangelism Still Counts

While sitting in the Mobile, Ala., airport, my phone began to vibrate – not a good sign on Sunday evening. Answering, my wife said through her tears “Leroy Krolczyk just transferred his home to glory.” Many who read this would not know Leroy, but he was precious to Southwestern and especially precious to me. After he served with his wife Sharon for quite a number of years as Minister of Music in our churches, he joined the staff of Houston Baptist University in Institutional Advancement. Later, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary was able to secure his services to assist in our growing Havard Campus in Houston.

Fall Festival highlights campus camaraderie

FORT WORTH, Texas (SWBTS) - Free Chick-Fil-A, bounce houses and games for kids, and the opportunity to engage fellow students, faculty, and prospective students characterized Southwestern Seminary’s first-ever Fall Festival, Oct. 16.  The event, which took place on the lawn of Pecan Manor, was put on by Student Life in conjunction with the Fall Preview Conference.

Southwestern professor’s new book calls senior pastors to invest in youth ministry

The Southern Baptist TEXAN released a story, Jan. 28, about a new book by Richard Ross, professor of student ministry at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. The book, titled The Senior Pastor and the Reformation of Youth Ministry, expounds the role of senior pastors in unlocking “true reformation” in youth ministry.
