FORT WORTH, Texas (SWBTS) – On Sunday night, Aug. 23, the Southwestern Seminary Master Chorale joined with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra at Bass Performance Hall. The combined group performed Gustav Mahler’s The Symphony No. 2 in C Minorto conclude a four-day concert series of Mahler’s most celebrated works. David Thye, professor of church music, and choral director of this presentation says the salvation message is very evident through the lyrics of this work. He calls it “a splendid declaration of faith, a heartfelt worshipful experience and an exuberant celebration of our ultimate hope and joy of everlasting life with Christ Jesus.”
