Brad Heller has taught at Southwestern and at Scarborough College’s Darrington Extension since its inception in 2011. He has a special affinity for the men at Southwestern’s undergraduate school inside the maximum-security Texas state prison in Rosharon.

Raised and educated in Pennsylvania, Brad worked as a newspaper reporter and editor, then spent several years working as a journalist in the Middle East, freelancing for the Wall Street Journal, the Associated Press, and the International Herald Tribune.  Later, he helped found the natural gas industry’s first daily newsletter.

Brad has served local churches in educational leadership positions for more than 25 years and has taught virtually every age group from second grade (his favorite!) through senior adult (his second favorite).

Prior to joining Southwestern, Brad served on staff at a large church as minister of education and administration.

Brad and his wife, Devon, who he met at a Bible study in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, are the proud parents of two sets of grown twins and grandparents to seven (to date) grandchildren.
