Dr. Weaver has served in the Office of the Dean at Scarborough College since 2013. He assumed the role of Assistant Dean of Administration and Assistant Professor of Spiritual Formation at Scarborough College in 2017. He has served several churches in a number of part-time roles and in pulpit supply.

Dr. Weaver’s primary research interests are in the area of hermeneutics, homiletics, and discipleship. His dissertation focused on John Stott’s preaching from Genesis. His current research is on the hermeneutics and homiletics of John Stott, Old Testament Narrative, Christian virtues, and Bible study methodology.

He completed the B.S. at The University of Alabama, where he also played football for the Tide. He finished his Master of Divinity at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and then received his Ph.D. in Preaching and Historical Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society. Dr. Weaver enjoys reading, studying, Alabama football, and spending time with his wife and family. They have been members of The Mount Church in Keller, TX since 2012.
