Dr. Loftin’s research interests are in philosophical theology, analytic theology, and the philosophy of religion. His books include God & Morality: Four Views (IVP, 2012), Work: Theological Foundations and Practical Implications (SCM, 2018), Christian Physicalism? Philosophical Theological Criticisms (Lexington Press, 2018), and Stand Firm: Apologetics and the Brilliance of the Gospel (B&H, 2018). He has earned three master’s degrees (philosophy, humanities, and theology), as well as a PhD in theology from the University of Aberdeen. In addition to teaching in Southwestern Seminary’s M.A. in philosophy, M.A. in Apologetics, and PhD in philosophy of religion programs, Dr. Loftin teaches regularly in Scarborough College, where he also serves as Assistant Dean. Outside of academics he loves spending time with his wife, Julie, and their young son.
