Biblical Counseling is something that every Christian should be prepared to do. The Walsh Counseling Center, in partnership with Counseling by the Book, offers Biblical Counseling Certification training to equip individuals and churches to minister the Word of God both formally and informally. The certification training explores the biblical and theological foundations for counseling, provides attendees with practical counseling methods and applications, and encourages attendees to faithfully assist those in need of help.

The certification training is offered on the campus of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. The program is offered in two (2) parts as six (6) weekends over a one (1) year period. Each part consists of three (3) weekends of training scheduled on Friday evening and Saturday morning and afternoon. In addition to classroom training, students are required to read three (3) books, view six (6) counseling videos, and complete a take-home, open book, open note exam. Those who successfully complete the training and pass the exam are awarded a certificate in Biblical Counseling.
