Keynote Speaker
Michael Matheson Miller
We are pleased to welcome Michael Matheson Miller, research fellow at the Acton Institute and director and producer of the award-winning documentary "Poverty, Inc.", as our keynote speaker. He will present two talks on the topic of poverty and the Great Ideas.

Submission Guidelines

We welcome paper submissions from undergraduate students addressing any Great Idea in the broad liberal arts tradition. Presentations should be limited to 20 minutes in order to provide adequate time for questions and discussion. Email submissions, along with a separate cover letter stating the author’s name, school affiliation, email address, and mailing address, to GreatIdeas2018@swbts.edu. Deadline for submissions is Feb. 14. Acceptances will be announced no later than Feb. 18.

There is no fee for attending the conference. A complimentary continental breakfast and lunch will be provided on Saturday.

Travel stipends are available for presenters. Students submitting paper proposals are automatically considered for a travel stipend. Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third best papers.
