Intercultural Studies

Intercultural Studies Practicum	ICS 3315	15
Students complete the Missions Practicum requirements on-the-field. Approximately one year prior to the Missions Practicum, students choose a specific International Missions Board (IMB) “Hands On” assignment under the supervision of the Missions Practicum’s Academic Supervisor. Prior to departure, the Academic Supervisor meets regularly with the Missions Practicum students, preparing them for every aspect of the approximately five-month overseas experience. While on location, an IMB Field Supervisor oversees and guides the student toward achieving the Missions Practicum three academic goals: 1.) Practical missions field experience (9 hours) 2.) Basic field-language acquisition (3 hours) 3.) Learning to communicate biblical truth cross-culturally (3 hours). When students return from the field the Academic Supervisor conducts a Post-Trip Meeting evaluating the student’s Missions Practicum performance.
