Interest meeting for New York mission trip to be held

Ladies of Southwestern, are you interested in joining a mission trip to New York over spring break? Come enjoy a New York-inspired lunch at 12:00 p.m., September 1, in the Women’s Center and hear about ways to partner in church planting in New York City.

SMA opens registration for music lessons 

Registration is open now through August 29 for a variety of lessons available for all age levels to be presented by the Southwestern Music Academy (SMA).   

Weekly Lessons/Classes

August 15 - children’s individual lessons of 30- or 45-minute lessons begin for 14 weeks.
August 15 - adult lessons for singing, guitar, leading worship (30- or 45-minute lessons, 7 or 14 weeks)
August 16 - Children’s Choir,  4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for 1st - 6th grades
August 22 - Joyful Noise Preschool Family Class, 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. for infants - five-year-olds. Parents or caregivers must stay to participate with their preschoolers.

Other Upcoming Events

August 27 - “Organ Extravaganza,” 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., (free event in the Reynolds Hall, learning how an organ works)
September 9, October 7, and November 4 - small group classes, 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. kindergarten - 8th grades.

Southwestern Alumni Association announces benefits, membership options

The newly relaunched Southwestern Alumni Association is now available to the 41,000 living alumni serving around the globe. Women's Center temporarily relocated to Price Hall

Due to some water damage and ongoing repairs, the Women's Center has a new temporary home in Price Hall 104. The Women's Center staff is there to provide a place to connect with Southwestern Seminary and Texas Baptist College women. For more information, go to SWBTS Women.

Southwestern, TBC welcome new students to begin academic year

Three days of activities, orientations, introductions, and fun and games filled the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Texas Baptist College official kickoff of the new academic year with New Student Orientation, August 10-12, as new students prepared for the new academic year on Seminary Hill.

 2+3 academic program provides fast track for couple’s missions work

Two Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary students have found that the 2+3 Master of Divinity program was the quickest way to get to the mission field, gaining both practical experience and theological training in their education.

Southwestern announces 100 percent scholarships for IMB missionaries

Calling it a “historic new initiative,” Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary President Adam W. Greenway announced in a video released today that beginning with the fall 2022 semester, the Fort Worth institution will provide a full tuition scholarship to all International Mission Board missionaries enrolled in the seminary’s master’s degrees and doctoral programs.

In his newly created role as associate provost for innovative learning, Michael S. Wilder said his daily mission is to ensure Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Texas Baptist College are “delivering premier online theological” education.

Madison Grace appointed director of research doctoral studies at Southwestern Seminary

W. Madison Grace II, associate professor of theology and director of the Oxford Study Program at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, has been named the seminary’s new director of Research Doctoral Studies, President Adam W. Greenway announced today.

Supply Day provides Southwestern Seminary, TBC students, families goods to begin the academic year

More than 100 Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Texas Baptist College students and family members benefited from this year’s annual Supply Day, held August 8 at the Recreation and Aerobics Center (RAC). The day included a giveaway of toys, books, furniture, housewares, and other items benefitting international students and other students on the Fort Worth campus.

Sieberhagen encourages Southwestern students to ‘go’ following summer mission trip

Whether in a short-term or long-term commitment, or as a sender, every believer must “give God your go” for missions, said Dean Sieberhagen, associate professor of Islamic studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, following a July mission trip to Europe with seminary students and his wife, Sandra.
