Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary lead the charge in training the next generation of career apprentice and long-term service missionaries in 2008, according to a report by the International Mission Board (IMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention. Of the 96 appointees who graduated from Mid-America and SBC seminaries, Southwestern contributed 27.

The study, which reflects seminary graduates appointed to full-time missionary service, represents Southern Baptists’ ongoing commitment to taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth. For more than 100 years, Southwestern has sent men and women called to missionary service all over the world, prompting former president Robert E. Naylor to say, “The sun never sets on Southwestern.”
