Southwestern Seminary announces job search for Chair of Music Ministry
FORT WORTH, Texas (SWBTS) -- Upon the recent announcement of long-time faculty member Gordon Borror’s retirement, the School of Church Music at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, has announced an open job search for its Chair of Music Ministry. The full-time faculty position will begin at the start of the fall 2010 semester.
The ideal candidate would provide evidence of leadership skills and the ability to teach doctoral seminars and supervise dissertations. Qualifications should include successful academic teaching experience in courses such as philosophy of church music, worship and/or hymnology as well as evidence of scholarship or creative work. Terminal degree in music required.
The School of Church Music enrolls more than 150 music majors and offers a wide array of academic and performance opportunities.
