Fall meal plan registration available

Registration for fall meal plans is now open for students, faculty, and staff. With a wide variety of meal plans, finding the right option for you is easier than ever. Visit the campus dining page for more information. To register for meal plans, click here.

SMA opens registration for music lessons 

Registration is open now through August 29 for a variety of lessons available for all age levels to be presented by the Southwestern Music Academy (SMA).   

Beginning August 15, children’s individual lessons begin for 14 weeks of 30- or 45-minute lessons for kindergarteners through 12th grades. All levels of learners from beginners to advanced are welcomed. Children who are taking individual lessons can participate in the October Theory Challenge, the Showcase: All Things Famous and Fun Performance, the Texas State Theory Test, and end of semester recitals.

Individual adult lessons also begin August 15, with options for singing, playing the guitar, leading worship and more. Participants may choose from two options of 7 or 14 weeks and from 30- to 45-minute lessons.

Children’s Choir begins August 16 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for those in 1st through 6th grades, with performances to be in Reynolds Hall and MacGorman Chapel. SMA small group classes for kindergarten through 3rd grades and 4th through 8th grades will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Fridays, September 9, October 7, and November 4. End of semester recitals will be held November 17-19. 

Beginning August 22, Joyful Noise Preschool Family Class for infants through five years old on Mondays, 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. will be offered. Parents or caregivers must stay to participate with their preschoolers.

There is also an “Organ Extravaganza” for August 27 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., and all friends and family of SMA students are welcomed to attend this free event. To be held in the Reynolds Hall, attendees can learn how an organ works.

August 8 is Supply Day for students

The annual Supply Day will be Monday, August 8, at the Recreation and Aerobics Center (RAC). All F-1 students can get household items from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. All Southwestern Seminary and Texas Baptist College students can come from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.  

The event, which began in 1971, is sponsored by the Tarrant County Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) and the International Student Services Office. More than a dozen area churches donate items such as gently used furniture, kitchen appliances, bedding, home décor, kitchen wares, books, and children’s toys.

Southwestern Alumni Association announces benefits, membership options

The newly relaunched Southwestern Alumni Association is now available to the 41,000 living alumni serving around the globe. In addition to fostering relationships, members can receive discounts for hotel stays at the Riley Center, in-house conferences, as well as books and merchandise at the Seminary Hill Bookstore. Members will have access to exclusive theological resources, the institution’s ATLA database, and more. Women's Center temporarily relocated to Price Hall

Due to some water damage and ongoing repairs, the Women's Center has a new temporary home in Price Hall 104. The Women's Center staff is there to provide a place to connect with Southwestern Seminary and Texas Baptist College women. For more information, go to SWBTS Women.

Campus Dining summer hours of operation

Until the fall semester schedule resumes, the dining services will have the following schedule:
Dining Hall: Lunch only, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
         Closed: Saturdays and Sunday
Coffee House: 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday
         Closed: Sundays
