Seminary professor challenges Darwin on his birthday
FORT WORTH, Texas (SWBTS) – On the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary professor William Dembski will challenge the inherent inadequacies of Darwin’s theory of biological evolution through natural selection and explain the validity of Intelligent Design. Dembski will speak on the Fort Worth campus during a chapel service at 10:50 a.m., Feb. 12.
Dembski, research professor of philosophy and director of the Center for Cultural Engagement at Southwestern, is one of the premier scholars in the Intelligent Design movement and has authored books and articles on the subject, including “The Design Revolution: Answering the Toughest Questions about Intelligent Design” and “Uncommon Dissent: Intellectuals Who Find Darwinism Unconvincing.”
A senior fellow with the Discovery Institute Center for the Renewal of Science and Culture, Dembski holds six post-baccalaureate degrees, including a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Chicago and an M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary.
