Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary’s fourth annual Gala Concert of Sacred Music will be performed at the Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performance Hall on the corner of 4th and Calhoun Streets in downtown Fort Worth, March 9 at 8 p.m. The concert is a celebration of the ancient and modern hymns and spiritual songs of the Christian faith. Ticket sales are brisk, but some excellent seats are still available.

At last year’s gala concert, a near-capacity crowd filled Bass Hall. The year before, more than 1,200 people attended the second annual gala concert at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas. This year’s concert in Fort Worth will again feature members of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra accompanying the nationally recognized Southwestern Oratorio Chorus. Special guests will include the noted piano duo Nielson & Young. The symphony and Oratorio Chorus will present the works of Bach, Mendelssohn and Saint-Saens with orchestra, and congregational singing will also be part of the program.

Tickets for the gala concert range in price from $20-35, or group tickets (10 or more) are available for $10 each, on-line through, or by calling the seminary at 817-923-1921 ext. 7200, or toll-free 1-877-GO-SWBTS (1-877-467-9287).
