Eric Reese, a Southwestern graduate, was awarded the Pedro Ernesto Medal of Merit, during a ceremony on Nov. 11. This award is the highest honor available to Rio de Janeiro citizens and foreigners who have provided praiseworthy service to the community.

Reese and his wife, Ramona, have been serving as missionaries to South America through the International Mission Board for almost ten years.  They currently serve the poverty-stricken in Rio de Janeiro. For the whole story, please visit You can also see a video about their ministry here:
