FORT WORTH, Texas (SWBTS) – Former Professor of Communication and Ministry Studies Calvin A. Miller died Aug. 19 from complications following open-heart surgery. Miller, 75, served at Southwestern from 1991-1998 and then at Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School as professor of preaching and pastoral ministry from 1998-2007.
Miller authored more than 40 books, including his best-selling trilogy “The Singer,” which was published in 1975. While at Southwestern, Miller also was writer-in-residence.
