Francis M. DuBose, an alumnus of Southwestern and retired missions professor and urban missions director at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, died of age-related causes, June 20. He was 87.

DuBose, who received his B.D. (1957) and Th.D. (1961) from Southwestern, was a pioneer in urban missions, authoring several books related to the topic. Prior to joining the faculty of Golden Gate Seminary in 1966, he served as a pastor in Texas, a director of missions in Michigan and as a teaching fellow in missions at Southwestern Seminary from 1960-61.
