Dr. Kerns serves as Associate Professor of Apologetics and World Religions in the Roy Fish School of Evangelism and Missions. His research and writing interests focus on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, world religions, and the application of apologetics. 

Dr. Kerns is the author of The Saints of Zion: An Introduction to Mormon Theology (B&H Academic, 2018). He is writing and research for two forthcoming publicatoins: Introduction to North American Missiology (B&H Academic, 2023) and Great Commission Apologetics (B&H Academic, 2025).  He has also contributed multiple articles in Baker Dictionary of New Religious Movements and Sects (Baker Books, 2018) and multiple articles and book reviews in peer-reviewed journals.  

He enjoys hunting, fishing, and being outdoors with his family and anything related to the Clemson Tigers.
