Dr. Juan Sanchez serves as associate professor of theology in the School of Theology. Dr. Sanchez previously taught at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Since 2005, he has served as the Pastor of High Pointe Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. Additionally, Dr. Sanchez serves several evangelical organizations including The Ethics and Religious Liberty Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention (Trustee) and The Gospel Coalition (Council Member, Board Member, Chairman). He is a former president of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention.
Dr. Sanchez is the author of several books including 1 Peter for You (The Good Book Company, 2016), Seven Dangers Facing Your Church (The Good Book Company, 2018) translated as 7 Amenazas Que Enfrenta Toda Iglesia: y Tu Parte En Superarlas (B&H Español, 2018), The Leadership Formula: Develop the Next Generation of Leaders in the Church (B&H, 2020) translated as La Fórmula del Liderazgo: Cómo Desarrollar a La Nueva Generación de Líderes En La Iglesia (B&H Español, 2019). He is also a contributor to the following books In Resurrection Life in a World of Suffering: 1 Peter (Crossway, 2018), Faithful Endurance: The Joy of Shepherding (Crossway, 2019), 15 Things Seminary Couldn’t Teach Me (Crossway, 2018).
Dr. Sanchez is married to Jeanine and they have five daughters, Alexandra, Hope Amanda, Gabrielle, Zoe, and Maxey, and three grandchildren.
