I graduated with my Bachelors in Biology Fall of 2016 with the intention of going to veterinary school, but after spiritually wrestling with God I knew that my call was not vet school but to enter the ministry. (Genesis 32:24-30) I faced a lot of opposition from my family as they felt that I was throwing away my life by entering a vocation that would not be financially substantial to sustain a family. Despite the opposition, I decided to pursue seminary and begin my MDiv at Logsdon Seminary Fall of 2016 and was later sponsored by my home church to transfer to Southwestern. My current plans are to graduate Spring of 2021 and continue my studies by pursuing a ThM degree.
I graduated with my B.S. in Biology from a small liberal arts university in Georgia Spring of 2020. I have always loved God’s creation in nature, and have especially loved animals, so I expected that I might pursue a career in wildlife. However, God stirred up a new passion in me for international ministry during my undergraduate career. I ended up joining the international club at my university and immediately recognized the amazing opportunity to serve and have gospel conversations with people from across the world. After graduating, I wanted to seek the Lord’s will for me in international ministry and missions, which led me to Southwestern. Now, I am pursuing an M.T.S – Concentration in Cross-Cultural Missions to prepare me for whatever the Lord has next.
I was born and raised in Seoul, the Republic of Korea. After graduating with my bachelor’s degree in Law at Yonsei University, I worked for a corporate legal team for years. During that time, I realized that I believed Jesus as my redeemer but not as the Lord of my life. Through wrestling and searching for the truth, the goodness and faithfulness of the Lord made me humbly obey and follow the way Jesus has gone. For three year’s MDiv in Korea, I prepared as a pastor. And I served the Lord’s churches for five years, pastoring Youth and Kids. Now I am pursuing MA in Theology since 2021 Spring. I have a great interest in theology, culture, and discipleship. I got married to my wife Juyeon and have a beloved son, Eden.
My life starts here at SWBTS, my father was an international student here at SWBTS studying to fulfill God’s purpose through him, alongside my mother. While he studied here, I was born, and I have lived here at the seminary for over 8 years. As a kid, I still remember students and my father at the time struggling to provide for their families while serving and obeying their calling which they have received from God. I never thought I too would receive the calling to be a preacher to the world, but by witnessing the years my father had went through following God in his steps and studies, I take that by heart and raced my way graduating KBTUS (Korea Baptist Theology University/Seminary) majoring in theology, in Daejeon, Korea. And now going into my third semester in SWBTS studying M.Div and I am thinking of graduating in the Spring of 2024. I do not know what God has in store for me now, but I look forward to the things he will provide. For now, I would love to serve in an international ministry through the gift of having a dual citizen that God has provided for me.
I was born in Nagaland, North East India. My family is a missionary in Nepal. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (English). Growing up in a Christian environment under the biblical guidance of my parents. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Since then, It becomes my desire to serve God anywhere He leads. It was never an easy road to grow in a foreign country where education, culture, and living style, are quite different. But God is always faithful to my family. He always provides for our daily needs. I gave my life to Christ when I was 15 years old. He bought and redeemed me from my sin with his precious blood, and I experienced the forgiveness of sin. Being in the mission field with my parents, I experienced the joy of having fellowship with God in worship while serving Him. All these situations made to experienced Paul’s word: it is not I but the spirit of God who lives in me. Presently, I am doing my Master of Arts in flute performance, and worship leadership. I am praying and seeking God’s guidance to show His way to serve Him according to the gift and talent He measured to me.
I was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico. I grew up in a Christian family and while all of my environment was Christian, I never took a conscious decision to follow Christ. While I was in middle school I realized there was a world out there that offered me things that I knew God didn’t like. It was there where I had to take a decision on who I wanted to follow; Christ or the world. I was 15 when I decided to follow Christ and my life was forever changed. After I graduated high school I decided to study Bachelors in Nutrition and Food Science. Two years into my degree, I had a very clear calling of the Lord to leave everything and surrender my life to the ministry. Today, me and my fiancée David are students at Southwestern and are very excited to start our adventure together serving in ministry full time. I am pursuing my Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies at Scarborough College and hope to serve in the youth ministry, counseling middle school age girls.
