Dr. McKellar serves as professor of preaching in the School of Theology. Dr. McKellar brings to the classroom over 30 years of pastoral experience. He has also served in a variety of denominational roles and the association and convention levels.
Dr. McKellar has contributed chapters to a number of publications including “Illustrating the Sermon” in A Pastor’s Guide to Text-Driven Preaching (Seminary Hill Press, 2016) and “Preaching” in Ecclesiology of Church Revitalization (Seminary Hill Press, 2021). He has also contributed to volume one of Preaching for Church Revitalization (SBTC, 2021). He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society and a member of the Evangelical Homiletics Society.
Dr. McKellar is a regular contributor to Preaching Source and regularly gives presentations on preaching at Southwestern Seminary’s Preaching Workshop and in churches around the country.
Dr. McKellar and his wife, Jennifer, attend First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.
Meet Matthew McKellar
