The Graduate Certificate in Collegiate Ministry prepares and equips students called to minister to, with, and through college-aged students.
Certificate Highlights

- Class credit can transfer into MDiv or MACE degrees
With a particular emphasis on campus ministry models, this certificate will focus on imparting relevant content, developing essential competencies, and nurturing crucial characteristics for creating, implementing, and maintaining a flourishing collegiate ministry.
Program Fees
Students who are members of Southern Baptist Churches - $360 per credit hour plus enrollment/technology fees
Students who are not members of Southern Baptist Churches - $720 per credit hour plus enrollment/technology fees
Admission Requirements
The applicant will complete the normal seminary application process for admission into the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Curriculum
Courses meet during our weeklong intensive terms in January or May and in conjunction with the National Collegiate Ministry Conference in Falls Creek, Oklahoma in August.
COLMN 4503 - Collegiate Evangelism
Students will engage with Scriptural principles for evangelizing college students in a variety of contexts and will formulate diverse outreach strategies for sharing the gospel with college students.
COLMN 4523 - The Role of the Collegiate Minister
Students will examine the qualifications and skills necessary for ministry to, with, and through college students, with special emphasis on scriptural qualifications, development and growth of character, vision, knowledge, and hard and soft skills inherent to their role.
COLMN 4543 - Collegiate Disciple Making
Students will engage with Scriptural principles for collegiate disciple making in a variety of contexts and will formulate specific strategies for developing disciple-making movements among college-aged adults.
COLMN 4903 - Special Issues in Collegiate Ministry*
Students will take part in a national or regional conference related to collegiate ministry and engage with topics related to the field and to conference themes.
* COLMN 4903 will be offered in conjunction with the annual National Collegiate Conference at Falls Creek, OK. Students will have conference theme-related assignments. Scheduled conference sessions with the instructor will also be part of the course requirements.
Each course provides maximum training and interaction with the course material at a master’s degree level. All courses completed in the Graduate Certificate in Collegiate Ministry are commensurate with the same courses contained in our gold standard degree, the Master of Divinity.
