Military Tuition Assistance
The Military Tuition Assistance Scholarship is available to active duty and reservist members of the United States military. Students must be degree-seeking, a member of a Southern Baptist Church and meet the GPA requirements listed below. Failure to maintain scholarship requirements throughout the academic year may result in reduction or removal of the scholarship. Incoming students can apply upon acceptance for enrollment, and current students must apply annually during the Spring semester for the following academic year.
This scholarship is administered as follows:
- Undergraduate students must have an established 3.0 GPA and are eligible for a $250 per credit hour scholarship. Students can be awarded up to 12 hours ($3,000 maximum) per semester for the Fall and Spring semesters only.
- Graduate students must have an established 3.0 GPA and are eligible for a $250 per credit hour scholarship. Students can be awarded up to 9 hours ($2,250 maximum) per semester for the Fall and Spring semesters only.
- Professional Doctoral (PDS) students must have an established 3.5 GPA and are eligible for a $1,200 scholarship per semester for the Fall and Spring semesters only.
- Research Doctoral (RDS) students must have an established 3.5 GPA and are eligible for a $2,600 scholarship per semester for the Fall and Spring semesters only.
Students must submit verification of their military status prior to the start of each academic year. Failure to submit verification in a timely manner may result in a delay of the scholarship being applied to your account and additional fees being assessed. Verification of military status can be emailed to sfs@swbts.edu and must be received by our office before the scholarship can be applied to the student’s account. Scholarships cannot be applied retroactively and may not be combined with another institutional scholarship.
