Student Life Internship
The SLI program is designed to develop leaders by giving them practical ministry skills, encouraging them in their walks with Christ, and giving them hands-on ministry opportunities throughout the school year. As an intern, you will not only plan awesome events, but you will also learn how to engage in people's lives to help them grow in Christ.

- Discipleship training – Holistic real-life training focused on helping you invest your life into others so that they can become disciple-makers.
- Leadership experience – Hands-on ministry experience and event coordination
- $700 scholarship for team members and $800 scholarship for team leaders
- Letter of Recommendation from the VP of Enrollment and Student Services
Eligibility Requirements
- Team members - at least one semester of study completed at Texas Baptist College, or one semester of study completed at Southwestern Seminary
- Team leaders – at least two years completed as a TBC student or one year completed as a SWBTS student.
- Minimum Cumulative GPA: 2.5
- Must maintain full-time academic status
- Must be willing to commit to one academic year of service (Fall and Spring semesters)
- Display spiritual and emotional maturity
- Committed to accomplishing the Student Life department's mission, based on the values of SWBTS/TBC.
Responsibilities Include
- Fulfill Ministry Team Commitments (2hrs a week)
- Attend and participate in weekly staff-led training meetings. (1hr a week)
- Attend the monthly Student Life Internship team meetings. (This will count as the weekly meeting for the week.)
- Actively prepare to invest in and disciple students on campus
- Attend the fall and spring Leadership Retreat and Leadership Celebration
- Assist with New Student Orientation each semester
- Work with your team to plan One SLI large event with your team each semester
- Participate in All SLI large events and serve at three smaller events.
- Smaller Events will be divided into Coffee Music Nights, Coke Breaks, and Disciple-Maker Luncheons. Team members will serve at all three occurrences of the event type per semester.
- You will submit one written report reflecting the student body’s insights for an area of campus life.
