Dockery recognized among Fort Worth’s ‘remarkable leaders’
This past spring, the Fort Worth Inc., magazine released its annual compilation of 400 of the most influential people of Tarrant County. And this year’s list includes a name familiar to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, as President David S. Dockery was recognized for his leadership and influence.
“Every year, Fort Worth Inc. celebrates the outstanding individuals who have made a significant difference in Fort Worth and the surrounding areas,” the Fort Worth Inc., website states concerning the awards list that first began in 2018. “We compile a list of 400 remarkable leaders from the Greater Fort Worth area who have made impactful contributions to ensure a bright future for the city and its people.”
The list of 400 individuals honored is divided into 14 categories, including fields such as education, government, healthcare, philanthropy, and others. Dockery is listed with 11 other individuals in the religion category. Others named in that category include bishops, pastors, ministers, imams, and rabbis.
According to Fort Worth Inc., a business and social guide for the city of Fort Worth, those considered for the list must be located in Tarrant County and go through a selection process that highlights those key leaders with significant influence in their specific fields.
“The selections of The 400 are ultimately made by me and our publisher Hal Brown,” explains John Henry, executive editor of Fort Worth Inc. “As part of the process, I canvass leaders within each industry/category we cover, asking them whom they believe are good candidates for the list.”
The complete list can be seen here. Dockery, who has served as president since September 2022, also was recognized in the magazine list last year.
