Keith and Kristyn Getty are returning to the campus of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. for their Christmas tour, SING! An Irish Christmas. The concert will take place in the MacGorman Chapel and Performing Arts Center. Tickets are on sale now, with more than 600 already sold, including churches bringing groups to the concert.

This is the second consecutive year that the well-known musical artists are appearing at Southwestern Seminary. In addition to the Gettys, Matt Boswell, Southwestern A Cappella, and other special guests will also perform.

The Sing! An Irish Christmas tour came to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Dec. 7, 2022.

The Gettys, who are known for modern hymns, including “In Christ Alone,” will be featuring new songs during their Christmas tour, along with traditional Christmas carols and hymns. The Getty’s have won two Dove Awards (2019, 2022) and were nominated for a Grammy Award in 2022.

The concert is open to the public, and several churches already have decided to make Sing! part of their Christmas season. One such congregation is Pleasant View Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas, for its annual staff Christmas party.

Joshua Yancy, education administration pastor at Pleasant View, said that the church staff was planning its Christmas party and received an email about the concert.

“Our pastor had been to a Getty’s concert years ago and he enjoyed it, so he encouraged it and the staff came on board,” Yancy said.

Alan Yarbrough, worship pastor at First Baptist Church of Justin, Texas, and a 2017 graduate of Southwestern Seminary, is using the concert to “bless our worship team members and their spouses with tickets to the Getty’s Christmas Concert.”

Yarbrough added that as the worship team serves “faithfully week after week and often sacrifice their own worship time with their families, this concert will provide us the opportunity to sing and worship together.”

A discount of 20 percent is available to groups of eight or more.

Tickets for the concert, starting at $24, can be purchased here.
