Dr. Cabal serves as professor of philosophy of religion in the School of Theology. His research interests focus on philosophy of religion, faith and science, and apologetics. After a radical conversion from atheism, he became a street evangelist, church planter, and pastor. Prior to his current service at Southwestern, Dr. Cabal has served as a professor for Dallas Baptist University, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (1995-1998).
Dr. Cabal served as the general editor for The Apologetics Study Bible (B&H, 2017) and contributed numerous articles to that publication. He has also contributed articles to the Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary (B&H, 2003) and the Worldview Study Bible (B&H, 2018). He has also written journal articles for The Southern Baptist Journal of Theology, the Journal of Frontier Missions, and the Bulletin of Religious and Theological Studies. He is the co-author of Controversy of the Ages: Why Christians Should Not Divide over the Age of the Earth (Lexham Press, 2018).
Dr. Cabal is married to Jill and has three sons and eight grandchildren.
Meet Ted Cabal
From living as an atheistic hippie musician to teaching for over 20 years in theological academia, Ted Cabal, professor of philosophy of religion at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, has had a unique life. While Cabal never lost interest in music, he gained many new interests throughout his life, including winning people to Christ.
