Shaping Scholars: A PhD Preview (RDS Info session)
If you’re thinking about pursuing a PhD but feel uncertain about the challenges ahead, this event is for you! On Thursday, January 30th, 2025, from 6:30-7:30 pm, Dr. Joshua Williams and a panel of current PhD students and faculty will provide a supportive, realistic overview of what the PhD journey entails. You’ll hear about the challenges and rewards of the program, including how to prepare during your master’s, what to expect in seminars, and how to stay motivated through the comprehensive exams and dissertation process. You’ll also learn how our faculty provide guidance every step of the way, and how your passion for research can translate into a meaningful career. Whether you’re unsure if a PhD is the right path or simply want more information, this session will give you the answers you need.
Join us in-person or virtually to connect, ask questions, and find out if a PhD could be the right next step for you! We’ll also be providing light snacks and coffee to keep you energized as you learn more about this exciting academic journey.
