Weekly prayer opportunities available for SWBTS, TBC
Each Monday at 11:45 a.m., faculty, staff, students, and any others are invited to gather in the Rotunda of the Memorial Building for a time of prayer, Scripture reflection, and submission to God’s leading.
Southwestern Seminary and Texas Baptist College students, faculty, and staff are also invited to join for prayer at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in MacGorman Chapel before the chapel service.

Roberts Library book sale begins Tuesday
Roberts Library will host its book sale Nov. 1–19, with most hardcovers for $1. Credit cards will be accepted until 4:45 p.m. and after that, cash only. For more information about Roberts Library, including hours of operation, click here.
Campus police information desk posts new hours
The new business hours for the campus police information desk will be 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. For more information about what services are available at the police administration building, click here.
Barnard Hall Scavenger Hunt deadline is Nov. 2
Join other Barnard residents Saturday for the Barnard Hall Scavenger Hunt around Fort Worth. Form a team with other residents to follow clues around the city to the final destination where lunch will be served. Members of the team that finishes first will win prizes. Town hall meeting for residential students to be held in Draper Auditorium Nov. 10
Residential students are invited to a town hall gathering from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. November 10 in Draper Auditorium in Mathena Hall. Topics for the meeting will include potential changes to housing options, student services, and more. Come and provide insights to help improve the care for students residing on campus.
SCMW annual ‘Prelude to Christmas’ set for Nov. 11
The School of Church Music and Worship will host a “Prelude to Christmas: Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery” at 7:00 p.m. Nov. 11 in MacGorman Performing Arts Center. The concert is free, but ticket reservations are recommended. For more information, click here.
“Heart of Hope: Life Celebration” memorial service to be held Nov. 18
A “Heart of Hope: Life Celebration” gathering will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Nov. 18 for those who have lost a child through miscarriage and for those who are grieving barrenness. The event will be held between the fish pond in the campus prayer garden and the southwest entrance to Truett Auditorium.

Reminders
“Anchored” conference offers positive alternatives for those considering leaving the faith
An in-person and live-stream conference, “Anchored in the Faith,” will address the growing number of young people who walk away from their faith. The conference will be held Nov. 1–2 at Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano, Texas, to equip students, educators, and parents.
The conference is part of PCA’s annual Biblical Worldview Institute that seeks to give a positive response to the negative reasons people give for leaving Christianity. For registration, conference speakers, schedule, and more information, click here.
Deadline is Tuesday for New York mission trip
The deadline for the spring break mission trip to New York City is Tuesday. Ladies of Southwestern Seminary and Texas Baptist College are welcomed to participate in a week-long mission trip to the most populated city in the United States. RAC swim lessons session 1 begins Tuesday
The Recreation and Aerobic Center (RAC) swim lessons for session 1 begins Tuesday. Registration forms will be available at the RAC Control Desk. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For more information, contact the swim instructor, Hailee Betts, at hbetts@swbts.edu.
Women’s Auxiliary hosts Thanksgiving lunch Wednesday
The Women’s Auxiliary will host its annual Thanksgiving lunch event, celebrating a holiday full of thanks, blessings, and a meal at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Riley Center 150. The lunch is open to female students, staff, faculty, church partners, and alumni. Tasha Calvert, women’s minister at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, will share a word on a season of thankfulness and the Lord’s abundant blessings.

“Holidays at Southwestern”: Thanksgiving dinner to be held Nov. 17
Celebrate “The Holidays at Southwestern” from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Nov. 17 on the second floor of the Naylor Student Center. The Southwestern Seminary and Texas Baptist College community is invited to the end-of-the-semester celebration. The formal, festive, and free Thanksgiving dinner is open to students, staff, and families and will be followed by a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and campus-wide snowball fight. The evening will feature cookie and ornament decorating, live music, and Christmas cards.
Students are encouraged to join Everyday Evangelism teams
Everyday Evangelism is an evangelistic focus to encourage Southwestern and TBC students to share the Gospel. The teams visit parks, shopping centers, and other locations to share the Gospel. For more information and specific times, click here.
Flu shots available at SWBTS clinic

Land Center lecture series focuses on Southern Baptist engagement of culture
Looking at politics, science, and education from a “perspective on Southern Baptist cultural engagement,” the Land Center for Cultural Engagement Lecture Series event held Oct. 25-26 at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary featured three one-hour lectures from Nathan Finn, Baptist historian and provost and dean of the university faculty at North Greenville University.
Southwestern South Korean graduates impact their native country
Three alumni from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary are making an impact in their home country of South Korea as professors at three separate seminaries, giving to their students the fruits of the education they received in Fort Worth.

Southwestern, TBC students proclaim Jesus on mission trip to Southeast Asia
Nine students and one faculty member from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Texas Baptist College proclaimed Jesus on a mission trip to Southeast Asia, Oct. 1–11. The trip was a fruitful time which resulted in more than 50 professions of faith and many words of encouragement, participants said.
Grace seeks to equip students for ‘challenges’ of 21st-century ministry
Knowing the eternal consequences that are at stake, W. Madison Grace II, associate professor of theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, is “resolved” that through his teaching he is “equipping well” so his students “are rightly proclaiming the Word of God and engaging it in a theological way.”
Lance outlines characteristics of a ‘difference maker’ in chapel message
Be a “difference maker,” preached Rick Lance, executive director-treasurer of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions, during his Oct. 25 chapel message at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Texas Baptist College.
Southwestern hosts ‘record-setting’ Preview Day
Prospective students and guests coming from across Fort Worth and Texas, from the east and west coasts, and from as far away as Pakistan, Korea, and England attended Preview Day Oct. 21, said David S. Dockery, interim president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Texas Baptist College (TBC) as he welcomed a “record-setting number” of attendees to the day-long event.
