Malcolm Yarnell, research professor of systematic theology at Southwestern Seminary, recently spoke at a conference hosted by New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Titled “A Powerful Polity: How God Works in and Through Baptist Churches,” the conference was co-sponsored by New Orleans Seminary’s Baptist Center for Theology & Ministry as well as B&H Academic.

Yarnell spoke on “The Theological Nature of the Congregational Church,” characterizing the church as the Christian community’s participation in the nature of God itself. Yarnell said this presentation “doubtless stands as the most creative or innovative theological essay I have ever presented. It is at the same time thoroughly biblical and deeply traditional.”

The Baptist Center for Theology & Ministry has posted Yarnell’s presentation online. Watch it here.
