Professor of Adult Education and Counseling, Associate Dean for Doctor of Educational Ministry Program, and Hope for the Heart Chair of Biblical Counseling
Frank Catanzaro serves as associate professor of biblical counseling and adult education as well as the associate dean of the Doctor of Educational Ministry degree program. Prior to joining the faculty at Southwestern, Dr. Catanzaro was the associate professor of counseling at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he served for over twelve years. He completed his master and doctoral studies at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Prior to his teaching ministry in Southern Baptist seminaries, Dr. Catanzaro was involved in local church ministry for over twenty years serving in various capacities. In earlier years Dr. Catanzaro was a church musician and has led worship with music in many evangelistic crusades across the country. In subsequent years his ministry efforts were focused more on the preaching, teaching and counseling ministries of the local church.
In addition to his ministry activity in the United States, (teaching, preaching, leading marriage and family conferences, evangelism), Dr. Catanzaro has engaged similar activities in over 20 countries and five continents. He and his wife, Teresa, have also served as ISC missionaries with the International Mission Board of the SBC. The Catanzaro’s have been married for over 30 years and have one son who, with his wife and two children, pastors a church in Georgia.
